Gender-Based Sex Selection and harmful practices against women and girls

In too many countries son preference and gender-based sex selection occur; illustrating the low value that is placed on girls. Evidence and policy interventions to tackle this phenomenon from Asia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe will be presented. The examples demonstrate the urgent need for a universal agenda on harmful practices against women and girls within the SDG process.
