Venue: Place Du Luxemburg
In April 2018, the famous Swedish DJ Avicii took his life, losing his battle with depression and finally bringing the public eye on mental health issues.
It was back then, when Eugene after struggling with his anxiety disorder and his burn out, that he came up with this event idea.
As the DJ Eugene of Viral bpm, with the help of EU Events and Rotaract Brussels Capital - International Club, aims at raising awareness about mental illness, especially among young people, re-organizes the 12 Hours for Life event during the international mental health day!
We really wish to show people struggling with depression that they are not alone in their struggle!
This time we will have the pleasure to have with us Mental Health Europe, the largest European network organisation committed to the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing, Zelfmoordlijn 1813 – België, the dutch speaking organization for the prevention of suicide and Business Improvement Districts - BIDs Belgium with it’s project Analogue to Digital, also active in the Mental Health sector with project initiatives in ‘designing healthy communities’. Projects initiated around the Founder Rozina Spinnoy’s personal experience with close family members who suffer mental health challenges.
DJ Eugene will perform live at Place Du Luxemburg between 18:00-22:00. In his set he will play tracks that will introduce you the event and he will lead you into a life-celebrating mood, while including an Avicii memorial playlist.
On this event, we aim towards a 4-hour long live-set, but eventually we would love to reach a 12-hour long performance in future editions!
