EEU Grants (1): How to obtain EuropeAid Funding?

The European Commission is one of the most important development donors in the world.
European Commission programmes are a potential source of funding for NGOs, but navigating the complex rules and budget lines, and deciding what will work is often difficult. Some EU funding programmes receive a lot of attention from NGOs while others remain unknown and unexploited by organisations, which do not duly master the EU funding mechanisms.

MDF Brussels offers you the opportunity to join two key modules on EU Grants:
EU Grants (1): How to obtain EuropeAid funding?
EU Grants (2): How to manage EuropeAid grant contracts?

These modules can be taken jointly or each one separately.

Course objectives
At the end of this course you will:
be able to identify and understand the relevant funding programmes and the related documents know how to adapt your project to the EU requirements understand how to adapt your own project to the guidelines of the call for proposals acquire techniques to draft an attractive and highly competitive concept note following the newly revised EU format enhance your skills to draft a sound full proposal using as a basis the logframe and to develop the accompanying budget better structure and present the content of your projects

For whom?
This module is specifically relevant if you are:
involved in fundraising or proposal writing in a non governmental or non-for-profit organisation;
a staff member of the National Authorising Officer or country representatives;
an employee of a national technical ministry;
a project member in the recipient country;
a programme manager of a consultancy firm involved in the management of calls for proposals.
No previous experience is required.

Additional info
This module focuses on understanding how EU development cooperation is working, and which funding instruments are available to your organisation and project. We will discuss the Call for Proposal process: from the publication of the CfP to the development of a competitive concept note, budget and full proposal. You will also get the chance to play the role of an EU evaluator, which will enhance your understanding of how proposals are being evaluated. You'll go home with many practical tips & tricks to be shared with your colleagues!
