Date: Wednesday, 06 November 2019 18:00 - 21:00

Venue: ING Marnix

In business just like in our personal lives, success is often achieved after having failed.

AmCham Belgium and Women in Business.brussels 1819 invite you to an open discussion on the 'stigma of failure' at our Start & Restart: Learning from Failure event taking place on November 6 at ING Marnix - visitors entrance: rue du Trône 1 Troonstraat.

Whereas in the US, failure is almost seen as a prerequisite for success – because of the valuable experience – in Belgium (and Europe, more generally), it is still too difficult to bounce back from an unsuccessful business venture.

Although there are other legal, regulatory and financial barriers, the so-called 'stigma of failure' explains some of the differing attitudes towards entrepreneurship between our countries.

Our keynote speaker, John Metselaar, former Director of Innovation at P&G, now Professor at Solvay Brussels School and Leader Global Innovation & Digital Transformation Institute at The Conference Board, will share his personal experience on the cultural differences between US and Belgium, especially with regard to entrepreneurship, 'stigma of failure', and mindset.

Following the keynote speech, you will have the opportunity to learn from a panel of experienced entrepreneurs whose careers have been shaped by both successes and failures.

Don’t miss this chance to get inspired and rethink your perception of failure!
