Date: Wednesday, 20 November 2019 13:00 - 14:00

Venue: online

Primarily to facilitate the ECL Youth Ambassadors training on specific cancer prevention areas, but also open to cancer societies and the general public, the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) has launched a series of webinars focusing on the messages of the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC).

The European Code Against Cancer (ECAC) is an initiative of the European Commission, developed by the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). The ECAC aims to inform people about actions they can take for themselves or their families to reduce their risk of cancer. Leading cancer scientists from across Europe compiled the ECAC based on the latest scientific evidence on cancer prevention, coming up with twelve recommendations that most people can follow without any special skills or advice. It has been estimated that almost half of all deaths due to cancer in Europe could be avoided if everyone followed the recommendations.

This fourth webinar will focus on messages 1 & 2 of the ECAC. ECL is delighted to announce as keynote speaker Dr Giuseppe Gorini,Tobacco Control Epidemiologist and Associate Professor of Public Health at the Oncology Network, Prevention & Research Institute (ISPRO).
