Date: Tuesday, 26 November 2019 12:45 - 14:15

Venue: ECIPE Office, Av des Arts 40, 6th floor, 1040 Brussels

Europe needs to boost entrepreneurial and innovation-led economic growth. A few years ago, the European Commission issued an “innovation emergency” for the European economy and launched the Innovation Union. Now the new Commission has set itself the task to design a new industrial policy that could bolster innovation, improve technology adoption and generally spur greater competitiveness. What should be the key planks of such a policy?

A new book – The Entrepreneurial Society – argues that Europe needs to unleash its entrepreneurial potential and pursue reforms that would place entrepreneurship at the centre of a new strategy for economic development. Economic policy without entrepreneurship, the author argues, is like Hamlet without the Prince of Denmark.

- What would such a reform programme in Europe look like?

- What are the key planks of entrepreneurship reforms?

- How does it link up with Europe’s industrial policy ambitions?

Please join us for a panel discussion on Europe’s economic future.
