The “Development of Sustainable Urban Centres with Active Involvement of VET (VET in Urban Centres)” project has pursued the elaboration of governance models to reach an active involvement of VET (Vocational Education and Training) schools and local businesses in urban planning processes, to create new VET programmes linked to the challenges and needs of urban centres, and to improve the cooperation between VET providers, municipalities and the labour market. Coordinated by Hordaland County Council (Vestland County Council as of January 2020), the project has produced two intellectual outputs, which will be presented at the VET in Urban Centres Brussels Breakfast: a local cooperation model including VET in the development of urban centres and an educational VET programme with the same aim.
These outputs have been developed by partners in Italy, Norway, Slovenia and Spain, representing stakeholders such as regional authorities, municipalities, businesses, employment services and VET schools.
During the event, you will:
- Learn about the strategical implementation of multistakeholder cooperation models for a sustainable urban development
- Discover new methods to integrate urban development and the local reality into VET curricula
- Get to know about involving VET centres in urban planning processes
- Talk to the project partners that made this possible and high level speakers
- Identify common challenges and potential solutions that could be implemented elsewhere
The conference will take place at the Norway House (Rue Archimède 17, 1000 Brussels).
This event is free of charge and is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission under KA2.
