Dedicated to the heavy-duty vehicle sector, this year’s annual conference of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), entitled ‘Reducing CO2 from road transport together’, will take place on 16 February.
As well as the heavy-duty vehicles themselves, vehicle components, trailers, alternative fuels, transport logistics and infrastructure all play a decisive role in bringing down CO2 emissions from road transport as part of an ‘integrated approach’. Building upon the results of an independent study launched last year, ACEA has been working in partnership with some 15 relevant stakeholders to examine the full potential of such an integrated approach. The event will be an opportunity to report back on the outcomes of this process, as well as to identify the best common solutions for meeting Europe’s climate change ambitions.
To truly reflect the integrated approach, there will be a lively debate between policy makers, truck manufacturers, automotive suppliers, the fuels industry, the road sector, road transport operators and freight forwarders.
Keynote speeches will be made by:
- Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO, Volvo Group
- Melanie Schultz, Minister for Infrastructure and Environment, the Netherlands (TBC)
- Wim van de Camp, MEP (TBC)
